The Valentinians too keenly claimed to be "Christians". Irenaeus writes an impassioned appeal to Florinus, his childhood friend and a fellow Roman priest turned Valentinian.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10440952.post-69398574944048297322008-02-09T08:24:00.000-08:002008-02-09T08:24:00.000-08:00Being on neither side, it ceases to amaze me that ...Being on neither side, it ceases to amaze me that both "sides" are putting their perspective of the institution first in their rationale.

What a waste.

The simplicity of following Jesus is absent from the whole ordeal.

The principle of reaping and sowing is alive and well.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10440952.post-15166957429883344592008-01-28T06:33:00.000-08:002008-01-28T06:33:00.000-08:00Fr Kew, your presence was missed at convention thi...Fr Kew, your presence was missed at convention this weekend, as well as the several other friends who parted ways with us in the past year.
I think you would have been pleased at the lack of rancor or controversey and with Bishop Bauerschmidt's remarks.
Blessings on you in your new ministry.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11250037631921167989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10440952.post-45948156550563804772008-01-25T13:26:00.000-08:002008-01-25T13:26:00.000-08:00Most excellent article. It saddens me also, to no end what is happening, but whether you are in England, or here, there isn't much that a conservative can do in the face of the power to be today. I just continue to preach the Gospel that I was taught, and the Holy Spirit continues to bless my ministry beyond my wildest dreams.
For example, for the upcoming year of 08, we have in the church I serve in excess of a $13K surplus budget. I think that is what good old fashioned preaching the Gospel, healing the sick, and casting out that which is evil will get one. Just so you know, we have not had an every member canvass since I have served this congregation, which is just under 5years.
Keep doing what your doing, you are being blessed, and are blessing those to whom you reach.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
